Australian Defence Forces joined Council in the Cyclone Marcus clean up today.
With the help of the ADF our crews made excellent in roads into clearing our streets. Tomorrow the ADF will be starting at East Point Reserve to clear the roads and shared paths and get this popular area open soon.
“It’s been a great boost to have the men and women from ADF join in the Cyclone recovery efforts. It’s a massive job and we appreciate their time and skills in making the city safe and accessible,” said Executive Controller, Nik Kleine.
Council currently has 630 jobs logged with 105 high priority jobs including blocked roads.
Correctional Services are also pitching in tomorrow and will work on clearing shared paths for cyclists and pedestrians.
Roads remain a priority over parks and reserves so please be careful in our parks and do not climb on fallen trees and damaged equipment.
Bin collection is taking place but is a little slower than usual.
The City, Karama and Casuarina Libraries will be open tomorrow. Nightcliff Library remains closed.
Nightcliff Pool will open mid-morning tomorrow. Parap Pool and Casuarina Pool remain closed until further notice.
