About the Program
Gardens for Wildlife is a free program for City of Darwin residents who are interested in creating habitat for local wildlife in their space. The program contributes to increasing wildlife corridors across Darwin and local understanding and appreciation of our unique environment and wildlife.
Why Join?
Gardens for Wildlife helps connect the Darwin community to our local environment by providing residents with resources and advice to help create wildlife-friendly gardens that support our urban forest.
As a Gardens for Wildlife member, you will receive:
- an initial garden visit to survey your garden, discuss the program and answer any questions you have about native gardening and providing better habitat
- a starter pack including a Gardens for Wildlife fence sign, Creating Habitat for Darwin Gardens booklet, gardening gloves and other helpful information
- newsletters with relevant local news, upcoming events and gardening tips
- invitations to Gardens for Wildlife events, including talks and workshops with local flora and fauna experts
Your involvement will also help us to gather data on the wildlife that exists across Darwin's urban gardens.
